I've had a fascination with photography ever since I was a child and received a Polaroid camera for Christmas one year. In junior high I dabbled with learning to develop my own film and prints, but the expense of it limited my experience to resources available at school.
As a result, I became a fascinated observer of the art for many years. It wasn't until the last 10 years that I've renewed my interest in the art. It started with my first 1 megapixel digital camera and has grown to incorporate studies of the newest technologies along with an intense interest in traditional film methods.
I've also begun a collection of vintage cameras and equipment. These instruments are works of art in themselves and worthy of recognition.
Santa Fe, NM March 2011. 1938 Ciroflex - 120 Film
Some of my more recent experiments have been
- Twin Lens reflex photography with a 1938 Ciroflex
- Caffenol processing (processing your own negatives using coffee as a developer)
- Conversion of a Flat Desktop scanner into a High Resolution Digital Camera
- Converting a 1915 Kodak Bellows camera to accept readily available 120 Film
- HDR (High Dynamic Range) photography
I'll try to post results of some of these in the near future.

Whether writing an article, building a guitar, drawing a picture, or spinning a ceramic vase, the creative process envelopes all of our lives. While music has been my most publicly creative endeavour, I have a long list of other artistic mediums I enjoy.
